With regard to the Week of Doom, none of the dire predictions that many were making have come to pass. The asteroid YU55 passed by without hitting either the earth or the moon. Whew, that was a close one! 
The government radio and TV emergency test seems to have gone off without a hitch. The multinational Asia-Pacific conference in Hawaii however, was marred by a US agent shooting a local in front of the Waikiki McDonalds.
It does seem that people are unusually ‘jumpy’ as many believe that we are nearing some sort of cataclysm. Perhaps it’s the prospects predicted by those who are the Global warmists, or the many disaster movies like 2012. Or the turmoil in the Middle East.
So stay tuned – many conspiracies lie ahead!
There are a number of things happening now that have concerned many about this coming week. Following this week, I’ll be glad to view this post in retrospect as hind sight is 20/20. So what are these ‘things’ that are about to happen?
Remember all the hype about the comet Elenin? Many of those who were skeptical of the Elenin – Niburu connecton certainly seem justified while many other’s are somewhat disappointed. What next? Well, believe it or not there is another heavenly body that hasn’t had the media attention of Elenin, and that is the asteroid, YU 55. Unlike Elenin, which missed the earth by 21 million miles, the asteroid YU 55 will be closer, much closer. So close that it will pass nearer to earth than the moon. The track of the asteroid will bring it by the earth on November 8/9 -2011. It is a pretty big one, over 1/4 mile in diameter according to astronomers yet we are assured that it will cruise harmlessly by the earth and moon. However there is speculation at this point by conspiracy theorists that the general population isn’t being told the whole truth about it. There are a number of coincidences that are also happening. You remember earlier this year NASA warned its employees to be prepared for emergencies. Before this, FEMA ordered $1 billion in dehydrated food. Apparently, UNESCO is planning a Pacific Wide Tsunami Warning and Communication Exercise on November 9, 10. In addition the US is going to conduct a “First-ever nationwide test of US emergency system.” The test, which will start at 2:00pm ET and last approximately three minutes, will resemble periodic monthly EAS tests — the ones with long tonal sounds and a “this is a test” announcement — that most people are familiar with.”
Such a comprehensive test has never been done in the US before, and the FCC said it is taking action now because it needs “to know that the system will work as intended should public safety officials ever need to send an alert or warning to a large region of the United States.
There are more “coincidences” like the construction of underground shelters in Denver…but who knows. I’ll revisit this post later – maybe.

We are a nation of law (a Republic) though many in the Occupy Wall Street movement have forgotten that.
Recently the question of evolution has come up on the political stage. The popular media has attempted to relegate those running with a Biblical world view (as did our Founders) to relics of the dark ages. Here, when Mike Huckabee was running for office, the question of evolution was dropped on his porch – and I liked his answer:

You will notice there are many false statements made by these ‘evolutionists’ who use them to denigrate those with a Biblical world view. It certainly illustrates the one-sided kind of guile perpetrated against those with a Biblical world view. Usually it is from these same types whose whole idea of ethics can be summed up in the word; “Tolerance.” The hypocrisy is obvious when there is no tolerance from this ilk when it comes to people who proclaim the Bible to be the Word of God.
I have a Class A motor home and a 4X4 tow vehicle I pull behind it. While at Tahoe, I thought I had a problem with the gas. The engine would start and idle but when going up a grade the RPM would slow to a stop. I then thought it might be vapor lock. So we left in the cool of the morning and going up the grade on Highway 50 out of Tahoe, the RPM slowed and the engine quit. The problem is, at the point where the rig quit, there was a rock wall on the right and a sheer cliff on the left – and the road was two lanes wide. I tried to get it started, but now it would not start. Traffic backed up behind us and soon, people started chancing going around us in the face of oncoming traffic. By now, the primary battery was nearly dead, so I switched to the house batteries. I told my wife to start praying. After a half dozen near collisions, in a panic, I remember saying, “somebody’s going to get killed and it’s my fault.” Finally, in desperation I slapped my hand on the dashboard and shouted, “In the name of Jesus, START!” I turned the key one more time and it immediately started up and ran perfectly. Hours later we reached the dealer in Yuba City, CA. Being Monday, the end of a three day weekend I knew they would be closed, but coincidentally we arrived as the manager was there to do some work in their retail shop, and the gates were opened. I pulled up to the normal drop off area and the engine quit before I could turn the key off. My wife and I looked at each other. For grins, I tried and tried to re-start the engine, but no dice – not a ‘cough’ or ‘snort.’ We unhitched the 4×4 and drove the two hours to home, relieved at the days events.
I received a call that Tuesday from the service manager. We talked and he asked, “How did you get it here? The mechanics can’t get it started.” I told him – ‘Prayer.’ A few days later I was called to come pick it up. When I arrived, I spoke to one of the mechanics who worked on it. He explained that it wasn’t vapor lock, since the fuel pump on most vehicles these days is inside the gas tank. He explained that they dropped the tank, checked the fuel pump and it only was able to produce about 7 pounds of pressure, not nearly enough to push the fuel through the injectors so they replaced it.
Since then my wife and I have traveled thousands of trouble free miles. Yet every time I sit down in the driver’s seat, I remember that day, on Highway 50, the screeching of tires and horns blaring – and a God who hears and answers prayers…and I pause to breathe a word of thanks to God for his mercy and saving grace that kept us safe, and moved us out of harm’s way. 
Scientists and graphic artists are able, with today’s technology, to raise a three dimensional image from the Shroud of Turin to reveal precisely what the face of the man in the Shroud looked like. They’ve even been able to create a life size figure of the head and using a printer – scanner were able to match the appearance of the image exactly as it appears on the Shroud. The mystery remains on exactly how the photographic image was formed except there was light that traveled through the body similar to the way the light moves in a photo copy machine. Is the image of the man in the Shroud actually the Lord Jesus Christ? That may not be proven to everyone’s satisfaction however I now believe it is (with no doubt in my mind), the actual burial cloth that Jesus Christ was wrapped in. Further, the image was imprinted on the cloth at the moment the resurrection took place. Jesus Christ did indeed rise from the dead.
